December 9-10, 2005: Congratulations to the 4A student from our studio who placed second out of about 70 students at the Region XI 5A Band Competition and has made the Area Band. She will be competing in January 2006 along with the other three students from our studio (from Region XII) to qualify for the Texas All-State 5A Band. We are very proud of our four students who will be competing in January! Only a total of twelve flute students qualify to audition for the All-State Band and Orchestra Competition from Regions XI and XII, which includes all of San Antonio and many surrounding school districts.

November 28, 2005: At the Region XII Band and Orchestra Competition, students from our studio placed first, third, and fourth chair out of about twenty students. The first chair player has qualified for the All-Region Orchestra. Congratulations to all three of our students (out of only six selected) who made the Area Band and will be competing in January 2006 to qualify for the Texas All-State 5A Band.

November 17, 2005: Since Region XII is quite large, the 5A High School Band Competition is split in half.  One part took place at Reagan High School in San Antonio and the other part took place at Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas.  Congratulations to all of the students who competed.  At Reagan High School, students from our studio placed first, second, third, fifth, sixth, and fourteenth chair. The first nine students qualified for the Region Band and the fourteenth-chair student qualified for the District Band.  At Clemens High School, congratulations to the student from our studio who placed third chair and qualified for the Region Band.  Each location had about 55 flute students competing.

February 9, 2005: Congratulations to the two students from our studio who competed for chair placement at the TMEA All-State Band and Orchestra Competition.  The 9th grade student from our studio made 23rd chair in the state of Texas, and the 10th grade student finished 26th in the state of Texas out of 35 students competing.

January 8, 2005: Two students from our studio qualify for the Texas All-State Bands!  The Area/All-State qualification round is very competitive and consists of students from both San Antonio and Houston Regions. Six students from our studio competed at Judson High School for the Area/ All-State tryouts. Congratulations to the 9th grade student from our studio who placed first and the 10th grade student from our studio who placed second to qualify for the 5A All-State Band (only five are selected). The two students from our studio were the only two flutists who made the All-State Band from the San Antonio Area, and the other three were from Houston. All six of our students placed in the top 9 of 17 students competing.  Congratulations again to all of the students who competed at this very rigorous competition. Your many hours of hard work paid off! In February, the students who qualified for the All-State Band will compete for chair placement at the TMEA convention held in San Antonio.

The first four qualified for the Region Band and included two 9th grade students. The eighteenth chair student qualified for the District Band.  At Clemens High School, congratulations to the students from our studio who placed second and eleventh chair. The second chair student is in 10th grade and qualified for the Region Band, and the eleventh chair student qualified for the District Band.  Each location had about 55 flute students competing.

November 9, 2004: Congratulations to the 11th grade 4A student from our studio who placed second at the Region XI 5A Orchestra Competition and has qualified for the Region Orchestra!  Only two flute players made the Region Orchestra out of over 20 students competing.

November 6, 2004: Since Region XII is quite large, the 7th and 8th grade Middle School Band Competition is split in half.  We had one student competing in each part.  Congratulations to the 6th grade student from our studio who placed eighth out of 73 flute students to qualify for the 7th and 8th Grade Region XII Middle School Band. Congratulations to the 8th grade student from our studio who made fourth at the other competition and has also qualified for the Region Band.

February 21, 2004: Congratulations to the 10th grade student from our studio who competed and won the Concerto Competition for the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio in the "Symphony" division.

February 11, 2004: Congratulations to the three students from our studio who competed for chair placement at the TMEA All-State Band and Orchestra Competition.  The 10th grade 4A student from our studio made first chair in the state of Texas in the 4A division.  The two 5A students from our studio finished 15th and 20th in the state of Texas. One will be performing with the Philharmonic Orchestra and the other will be in the Symphonic Band.

January 10, 2004: Three students from our studio qualify for the Texas All-State Bands!  On Saturday, five students from our studio competed at Judson High School for the Area/ All-State tryouts. One participated in the 4A division, and the other four competed in 5A. Congratulations to the 10th grade 4A student from our studio who placed first to qualify for the 4A All-State Band (only two are accepted from this Area). In the 5A division, congratulations to the two students from our studio who placed third and fourth to qualify for the 5A All-State Band (only five are selected). The students from our studio in the 5A division were the only two flutists selected from the San Antonio area. The Area/All-State qualification round is very competitive and consists of students from both San Antonio and Houston Regions. November 8, 2003: Congratulations to the 8th grade student from our studio who placed first out of over 80 flute students to qualify for the Region XII Middle School Band and Orchestra. Congratulations also to the 7th grade student from our studio who made 7th chair at the competition and has qualified for the Region Band.

November 5, 2003: Congratulations to the 10th grade 4A student from our studio who placed first at the Region XI 5A Orchestra Competition and has qualified for the Region Orchestra!  Only two flute players made the Region Orchestra out of about 40 students competing.

February 2003: Congratulations to the two students from our studio who qualified for the TMEA All-State Band and Orchestra, including one student in the 4A division and one in the 5A division.

February 2002: Congratulations to the two students from our studio who qualified for the TMEA 5A All-State Band and Orchestra, including one student who placed second chair in the state of Texas.

February 2001: Congratulations to the student from our studio who qualified for the TMEA 5A All-State Band and Orchestra and placed third chair in the state of Texas.
